During a interview on The Ed Show Thursday night, host Ed Schultz asked Vice-President Joe Biden what he thought about Florida’s Stand Your Ground law, the controversial measure passed in 2005 that will be a focal point of the Trayvon Martin case. Biden, an attorney and formerly a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said that it leads to nothing but ambiguity. Biden also dipped into specifics of the law’s application, implying that the law does not protect someone who’s pursued an individual, and who’s not in danger. Obviously that will be analyzed at trial. Biden didn’t take any definitive position but he could have simply passed, rather than involving himself in what’s become an enormously controversial national case.
