The site of the Secret Service partying and prostitution scandal has been limited at this point to Cartagena’s Hotel Caribe, where 22 members of the agency and the military stayed. But Sunday on CBS’s Face the Nation, Senator Joseph Lieberman, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, said a twelfth Secret Service employee under investigation (put on administrative leave as of Friday) actually stayed at the Hilton in Cartagena, the same hotel where President Obama would stay five days later. “And it just gets more troubling,” Lieberman said.
“Now we don’t know at this point that what the twelfth agent is being charged with and why he’s been put administrative leave,” Lieberman told Bob Schieffer.
“To act as these people did in Cartagena as if they were college kids on spring break, it is reprehensible,” Lieberman said. To be fair, a lot of spring breakers would just pay the going price for South American prostitutes.
