Less than a week after the fake yacht explosion off the coast of Sandy Hook that cost rescue agencies five hours, $300,000, and a portion of their sanity, a suspicious call prompted the the Coast Guard to dispatch a helicopter twelve miles off Cape May Sunday morning for a search that turned up nothing. “Mayday, mayday, is anyone there?” the caller said, according to the Associated Press. The Coast Guard’s offer of a $3,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the earlier yacht explosion incident still stands, if anyone’s willing to interfere with the culprit’s hysterical new hobby.
