Up in the Air and Thumbsucker author Walter Kirn, who’s also done some writing for New York, will join Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes at his reinvigorated version of The New Republic as a national correspondent. Kirn joins returning TNR editor Franklin Foer at the suddenly flush D.C. magazine as it strives to break out and make it in the big city.
