There’s no escaping the wild weather these days. A New York woman was killed this weekend while attempting to escape the extreme heat tormenting much of the country. Indira Tursunova, 48, of New City, New York, was vacationing with relatives and friends in Monmouth Beach when she was struck by lightning. Tursunova had been walking on a sea wall when a violent, fast-moving storm rolled into the region on Saturday night. She died in the hospital early on Sunday morning.
