Jeb Bush Blames Mitt Romney’s Relatability Problem on Negative Ads, Mitt Romney

Jeb Bush has a theory on why the Republicans feel they need to deploy Ann Romney at the convention tonight to convince voters that her husband isn’t the real-life, somewhat less lovable incarnation of Star Trek’s Data. In an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan, Bush pointed to the Obama campaign, saying, “To answer your question about why it is that people may not relate to Mitt Romney, they’re seeing TV ads that make him into the devil incarnate.” Plus, Romney isn’t very good at opening up and telling America that he hasn’t actually killed anybody. Bush explains, “He’s not been as comfortable with showing what’s in his heart and who he is.”
