A new PPP poll shows that 44 percent of American voters believe Santa Claus is a Democrat, compared to only 28 who believe he is a Republican, and the remainder who didn’t feel like dignifying that with a response. But as ridiculous as the question is, the plurality opinion seems to be on firm ground here: Santa gives out more gifts than President Obama, knows more about you than the most powerful and intrusive federal government ever could (when you’re sleeping, when you’re awake, whether you’ve been “bad” or “good”), and travels by carbon-neutral magic reindeer sleigh.
