Marc Jacobs: Backlash to the Backlash
Ever since designer Marc Jacobs came back from rehab all tanned and buff, some reporters think that he has been "acting out" (clearly said reporters took a one-semester class in child psychology freshman year). There was his infamous Fashion Week show this fall, which was delayed for two hours, followed by infamous verbal fisticuffs with the International Herald Tribune's Suzy Menkes, followed by the hot nudie pictures in Out and Arena Hommes Plus and the blue — sorry "navy" — hair. A concerned Eric Wilson of the Times sat down with him to find out what it was all about:
"In the most basic way I can say it," he said, relighting a cigarette, "coming from a psychological place, what I love more than anything is attention. That is about as honest of a statement that I could possibly make. I want a reaction, because I want the attention."
It's not that we didn't already know that. It's just that, well, for him to just come out and say it makes this whole year of drama just … lovable. Revealed: Marc Jacobs's Recipe for Tuna Salad
Marc Jacobs's svelte physique is not the result of his skills in the kitchen. We asked the designer about his cooking repertoire at the Out 100 awards gala on Friday, and it turns out it's, well, fashionably slim. "Cook?" he asked. "I make tuna salad. It's not really cooking, but I chop the spring onions and the celery very, very well, and I put it with tuna fish and mayonnaise and pepper. And that I do extremely well. More than that, I can't do." Marc attended the party on the arm of his on-again-off-again boyfriend, Jason Preston. We asked what Preston contributes, and the Louis Vuitton creative director just guffawed. "Jason? Do you cook?" he asked, turning to Preston who shook his head. "No, he doesn't cook," Jacobs told us, laughing harder. "We eat out a lot, and we have room service a lot." Oh, silly us. We thought Jason was the room service! —Bennett Marcus Related: Tan, Trim & Rehabbed Marc Mark II [NYM] More Party Lines photos and quotes from the Out 100 party: Kelly Rowland digs gay people, and Tori Spelling on being a married gay icon.

Tom Ford: Naked, Again
We've been seeing a lot of designer Tom Ford lately, what with his aggressively sweaty, chest-bearing perfume ads. But apparently for Tom, that wasn't enough exposure. The 45-year-old strips down for a new boxing-themed photo shoot in the November issue of Out magazine and jumps in the shower with two burly boy models. (The above is a "before" shot.) Ford said he made sure to compliment his fellow models' natural endowments in the shower but assured the mag that it didn't make the pair uncomfortable. "They sense from me that I'm not going to give one of them a blow job," he said. "I just don't do that." After the jump, much more tan line than you're used to seeing on a Monday morning in October.

Martha Stewart Is Scared of Westchester
Martha Stewart cancelled a book signing in Westchester because she didn't want to deal with questions from residents as to why she was trying to trademark the name "Katonah." Ellen Barkin played coy when asked about whether she slept with George Clooney. Some critics disagree with Out magazine's decision to put Anderson Cooper and Jodie Foster on the cover. The Clintons are going on vacation to the Dominican Republic to hang out with the de la Rentas. Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts are pushing up their nuptials so they can tie the knot before Watts gives birth. An NBC flack snapped back at CBS producer Steve Friedman for his comments about the Today show's slipping ratings. Woody Johnson is making his 60th birthday party a costume affair so feuding family members Libet and Casey won't recognize each other.
