• “Room to Grow” children’s charity benefit. Christie’s, 20 Rockefeller Plz., nr. Sixth Ave., 6:30 p.m. Uma Thurman hosts; Josh Lucas, John Leguizamo, and Ken Burns expected to attend, along with Garine Zerounian, senior director of international public relations at Polo Ralph Lauren and winner of the “Party Town” Randomly Selected Member of the Benefit Committee Contest. Congratulations, Garine!
• Dellis Cay New York launch. Neue Gallery, 1048 Fifth Ave., nr. 86th St., 6 p.m. Michael Douglas and Donna Karan are expected to attend. Confusing: Isn’t Dellis Cay a place? How can it launch in New York? We tried to find out at delliscay.com, but it’s one of those sites where you have to watch a Flash-animated fiasco before actual information comes up, and we didn’t have the time to wait. Even when we did wait, the information wasn’t so informative.
• Seraphim Falls Cinema Society screening. Tribeca Grand, 2 Sixth Ave., nr. White St., 7:30 p.m. Stars Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson will be on hand to discuss the Civil War thriller along with director David Von Ancken. Actually, it takes place just after the war, and speaking of which why is it that there’s a crapload of period pieces about British people playing croquet, and there’s no harrowing Reconstruction epic? (P.S. Movies made before black people were even allowed to play major-league baseball don’t count.)
