Bay Ridge residents were not as confused about the fact that McCain was reversing his stance on government bailouts for banks yesterday as by the venue in which he chose to outline his new economic plan: Windows We Are, a glass-supply company at Fifth Avenue and 91st Street. “We can’t figure out why he’d speak at a window store and not at the school across the street,” local Tania Lazala told the Brooklyn Paper, which reports that “the hastily scheduled event surprised even the Windows We Are owners.” Is it possible the 72-year-old Arizona senator thought he was going to Windows on the World or something? If so, the candidate handled it with aplomb and managed to win at least one important vote. “I’m a McCain supporter now,” Windows We Are manager Scott Turnbull said.
