Lawyers for Cynthia Rodriguez say that she will file for divorce in Miami family court today from her husband. She'll cite a "long period of infidelity" and "emotional abandonment," and A-Rod's friendship with Madonna will definitely be mentioned. For herself, C-Rod denies that Lenny Kravitz, who hosted her in Paris for a brief getaway last week, is anything more than a friend. Meanwhile, the singer herself has finally seen fit to issue a denial of any kind of romantic relationship with the Yankee slugger. From a statement released by her publicist:
"I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez."
"My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce."
None of these developments is particularly surprising, but it does make us wonder: Now that we've got A-Rod, C-Rod, Stray-Rod and D-Rod (the Post's cover line about the divorce today), what's the next "Rod" construction we're all going to be forced to use? M-Rod? STD-Rod? We really can't wait for Gay-Rod. We've been waiting for that to come back since forever.
