Who's your favorite New Yorker, living or dead, real or fictional?
Ralph and Ricky Lauren (my parents).

What's the best meal you've eaten in New York?
Chicken satay at Mr. Chow or sticky sushi rice at Sushi of Gari.

In one sentence, what do you actually do all day in your job?
I think about ways to elevate candy to an art form and lifestyle product.

Would you still live here on a $35,000 salary?
Yes, there's so much happiness, education, and entertainment New York offers for free — just by walking down the street.

What's the last thing you saw on Broadway?
Jersey Boys and Xanadu.

Do you give money to panhandlers?
I only give money to panhandlers who display a musical or artistic talent and don't look like they are going to use the money for drugs.

What's your drink?
Nonfat Vanilla Chai Tea Latte at Dylan's Candy Bar.

How often do you prepare your own meals?
Rarely — usually breakfasts. I like making egg-white omelets or yogurt parfaits.

What's your favorite medication?
I love the electrolyte drink Emergen-C — it’s like a natural cure. It gives me energy and restores my electrolyte balance after a tough workout.

What's hanging above your sofa?
A shelf filled with candy packaging and rabbits, both of which I collect.

How much is too much to spend on a haircut?
Over $100.

When's bedtime?
11:30-12:00.

Which do you prefer, the old Times Square or the new Times Square?
New Times Square — it’s so exciting, and I love all the graphic designs the lights accentuate.

What do you think of Donald Trump?
I like him — he is always re-creating himself.

What do you hate most about living in New York?
The pollution that you can literally see coming from chimneys and from buses, and the fear of the pollution you can't. The noise of buses and sirens that don't seem to need to be so loud.

Who is your mortal enemy?
Criminals and people who inflict harm on anyone or anything.

When's the last time you drove a car?
A few weekends ago in the Hamptons.

Who should be the next president?
Obama.

Times, Post, or Daily News?
Post during the week and Times on weekends.

Where do you go to be alone?
Central Park, to jog.

What makes someone a New Yorker?
Someone able to keep up with or influence the hustle and bustle and the fast pace of the business world, society, and the hospitality industry.
