Which Weekly Gossip Insert’s Life As We Know It Is Over?

According to a source over at Page Six Magazine, the weekly Post insert has shut down. “They couldn’t sell ads,” the staffer explained. The mag’s two-dozen workers were notified today. The magazine, which hoped to capitalize on the popular “Page Six” brand of gossip, photos, and entertainment, has followed the unsuccessful PageSix.com into the ground. (Though, briefly, there were plans to make it an online-only venture as well.) Gawker reports that there are publicized plans to make it quarterly. This marks the end of a year and a half’s worth of expansion plans and work to make the brand into a powerhouse bigger than its original two-page spread. Perhaps symbolically, P6’s founder, James Brady, also died on Monday. This week, the whole world is just a little less canoodly.
