Afforable Housing Saved in Brooklyn!

The New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal announced that it will not have to cease subsidizing fifteen affordable-housing sites whose viability had been threatened by the economic downturn. Two are in Brooklyn, that borough’s Eagle paper reports: One’s in Brownsville, and the other is a former brewery in Bushwick. It’s good that they developed that last one; no abandoned building is sadder than one where rivers of delicious beer once flowed. [Brooklyn Eagle]
