'Tis the season to be swanning about the Hamptons! But just in case you're not, here's our weekly wrap-up of what you missed this weekend.
This year saw Diddy's annual White Party move to L.A., but that East End still knows how to throw down: Fire marshals in Southampton closed down Pink Elephant on Friday night owing to a carbon-monoxide scare, forcing clubgoers, like 90210's Anna Lynne McCord and Twilight's Kellan Lutz, to a packed Axe Lounge. Tenjune owners Eugene Remm and Mark Birnbaum hosted a holiday cookout at their house in Sag Harbor, with guests like Russell Simmons, Jessica Szohr, and the Knicks' David Lee. Cars were towed from the overly crowded Georgica's parking lot Saturday night while Alex McCord and Simon Van Kempen partied inside with people half their age.
Jodi Della Femina, daughter of East Hampton restaurateur Jerry, is co-writing a novel about the daughter of an East Hampton restaurateur. Jon Bon Jovi treated diners at East Hampton's Blue Parrot to an impromptu July 4 concert when he plucked a guitar off the wall and played Who Says You Can't Go Home and Free Bird. Rudy and Judith Giuliani served as judges for Southampton's July 4 parade, leading floats made of fruits and vegetables as well as an Elvis impersonator.
Andy Warhol's iconic 1984 portrait of Michael Jackson (who owned an oceanfront estate in Montauk) is up for auction until July 12 at East Hampton's Vered Gallery. Spencer Tunick, the photographer made famous by his images of large groups of naked people, gathered hundreds of not-shy beachgoers in Montauk for a nude photo by the lighthouse. Jill Zarin gushed to Hamptons.com readers about how she was one of only three women at the Hampton Hills Celebrity Golf Classic.
Richard Gere has reduced the price of his Hamptons home from $8.8 million to $7.2 million. Camille and Kelsey Grammer hosted the 14th Annual Artists Against Abuse fund-raiser. Gerard Butler flirted with models at Ben Watts (brother of Naomi)'s Montauk Yacht Club bash. In an effort to be green, MINI of the Hamptons will be leasing its all-electric MINI Cooper. Now if they could just do something about those stretch Hummers en route to Axe Lounge.
