Masked Intruder Breaks Into City Hall

Yesterday afternoon, a masked intruder was found on the roof of City Hall by a group of construction workers. Officials summoned to the scene quickly herded him into a metal cage, but the trespasser’s long-honed skills at unfastening garbage cans and window screens had prepared him for such an eventuality, and he made short work of the flimsy prison. “He popped up the cage, ran down the scaffolding, and we had to chase him down toward the window well of the building,” Mike Pastore of Animal Care & Control told the Post. When the intruder, who was described by the paper as “rotund,” was eventually caught and trapped again, Pastore and his men sealed the cage with extra-firm bindings. But from the look on his face, we suspect even those won’t hold him long.
