A Queens bus driver is one of ten finalists for for CNN's Hero of the Year honors. Jorge Muñoz, who emigrated from Colombia in 1981, wakes at 5 a.m. each day to drive a school bus. Instead of going home and taking a long nap afterward, as we would do, he then cooks up to 125 hot dinners, which he hands out to the needy under the elevated 7 train. Every night. Here's the kicker: If he's voted Hero of the Year and gets the $100,000 prize that goes with it, he says, "it would be great because I'd have a budget to help people for at least two years." And now we feel terrible. And kind of hungry. [NYDN]
