Conservative Doug Hoffman, who earlier this month lost the election to represent New York’s 23rd congressional district, withdrew his concession tonight with a post on his website. Hoffman currently trails Democrat Bill Owens, who has already been sworn in, by 3,832 votes with 4,262 absentee ballots left to count. So he has no chance. Not that that phases him.
“As evidence surfaces, we find out that reported results from election night were far from accurate. ACORN and the unions did their best to try and sway the results to Obamacare supporter Bill Owens. Rest assured, they will not succeed, and I am therefore revoking my statement of concession.”
Blaming ACORN and unions seems like a particularly desperate ploy at this point. But when you need 80 percent of the remaining ballots, many of which are from Democratic strongholds, to go your way, desperate is exactly what you are.
