In a cute little story about Washington politicians and media types who were once roommates with each other, we learn that lovable news anchor Katie Couric long ago shared an apartment with, and mentally tormented, a current senior executive producer for Larry King Live, Wendy Welker. Couric, apparently, liked to “needle Walker by rearranging her sweaters or balancing her coffee on top of her roommate’s pristine white duvet.” A spokesman for Couric compared the pair to Peanuts characters: Couric was Pigpen, and Walker was Lucy if Lucy suffered a breakdown because her sweaters kept moving by themselves.
