Marriage-Equality Vote Planned in New Jersey State Senate Today

So far, only thirteen senators have publicly voiced support for the bill, and 21 votes are needed for it to pass. Opponents say it has no chance, but proponents are holding out hope, and both sides are still feverishly lobbying for support. If it does, in fact, pass, it still needs to pass the Assembly on Monday, and be signed by Democratic Governor Jon Corzine before he is replaced by his Republican successor, Chris Christie, who opposes it.
