Yemeni Forces Kill Two Al Qaeda Militants, More Sana Embassies Shut Down

Yemeni security forces tracking Al Qaeda suspect Nazig al-Hanq killed two of his bodyguards and wounded up to three others in a firefight 25 miles north of the capital of Sana, though al-Hanq himself escaped. This is the third skirmish in a month as the Yemeni government, with the aid of the United States, attempts to battle the growing presence of Al Qaeda on the Arabian Peninsula. Meanwhile, Japan, France, and Germany have joined the U.S. and Great Britain in shutting down their embassies in Sana. [NYT]
