Are You Happy Enough?

We don't mean "in a good mood right now" happy, like because you just bought a cool shirt or watched Wet Hot American Summer again. We're talking about the real thing: natural happiness. If you're not inherently full of warm feelings, delight, and joy, according to a recent study, then, well, you might want to be concerned .

People who are naturally happy appear to have a lower risk of developing heart disease or dying from heart attacks, according to a 10-year study from Canada.

This isn't to say that if you're not naturally happy, you're definitely going to die a sad, early death.

If you make an effort, Karina Davidson, director of the center for behavioral cardiovascular health at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, tells Bloomberg, then you may have a chance. "Essentially, spending some few minutes each day truly relaxed and enjoying yourself is certainly good for your mental health, and may improve your physical health." So just relax, okay? RELAX, GODDAMNIT.
