The governor is expected to make a public appearance around 11:30 announcing that he is dropping his reelection bid, according to the Post and the Daily News. As recently as last night he was telling supporters he still planned to run, but apparently in the cold light of day (and after only he knows how many phone calls), it just didn't seem feasible. The long-anticipated blockbuster Times report was the straw that broke the camel's back. Somewhere in New York right now, Andrew Cuomo is ordering his assistant Bryce to send reporter Danny Hakim a big bouquet of chocolate-covered fruit. [NYP, NYDN]
