It was only a matter of time before Bob and Courtney Novogratz, the couple known here in New York for schlepping their kids — seven at last count: Wolfgang, Bellamy, Tallulah, Breaker, Five, Holleder, Major, and now there are two more — to different pieces of property that they flip and renovate, got their own reality show. The show, which is called 9 by Design and is being billed as Sex and the City meets Jon and Kate Plus Eight, premieres in April, of course on Bravo, and will follow the zany misadventures of the Family Novogratz as they move from apartment to apartment, all the while trying to convince the rest of America that, underneath it all, they're just like them!

"We live in the best city in the world, but our kids do a lot of the same things they would do anywhere," said Bob. "They eat pizza for dinner and watch 'American Idol.' They play sports at Chelsea Piers."

Oh, dear.

You know what it reminds us of, actually? When you fall in love with someone at camp, and then they come to visit you during the year, and you introduce them to your friends and it goes horribly wrong because your camp boyfriend has all of these quirks — like bragging and being really over the top and wearing zany shirts — that you were somehow able to overlook at camp but in the real world, where everyone is normal, come across as really grating and obnoxious. That's how we feel about the Novogratzes. They're nice and we really like them in the context of Camp New York, but in the real world, they're just going to look silly and crazy and embarrass us horribly.
