Two Police Officers and Gunman Shot Outside of Pentagon

Two police officers and a suspect were reportedly shot outside of the Pentagon at about 6:35 p.m. tonight, according to a public-affairs officer for the Pentagon Force Protection Agency. A suspect — who was injured when police returned fire — is in custody for the shooting, which took place outside of the building’s main entrance at the Pentagon metro station. All three are currently being treated at George Washington Hospital, said a hospital spokeswoman; the injuries are not life-threatening. The Pentagon building was initially locked down, but after 45 minutes authorities allowed employees to leave through entrances other than the one closest to the metro station. [CNN, ABC News, Reuters]
