If you can believe this, a newsletter sent out by the Medina County Republican Party in Ohio actually contained these words, in the year 2010: “Let’s take [Democratic representative] Betty Sutton out of the House and put her back in the kitchen!” The group’s chairman, laughably, says that the rallying cry was “not intended to be a sexist comment.” What’s the big deal?
