Besides a brief interruption by political commentator and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, who was dressed as "King Andrew II," the official Democratic nomination of Andrew Cuomo for governor went as expected earlier today. In his approximately 25-minute acceptance speech, Cuomo laid out his vision for the state: balancing the budget without raising taxes, restoring the public trust in government, and reinventing government by making the bureaucracy "work better."
