Apple Overtakes Microsoft for the First Time

For the first time ever, Apple overtook Microsoft today to become the world’s most valuable technology company. At the end of the day Wall Street valued Steve Apple company at $222.12 billion and Microsoft at $219.18 billion. The Times says this is a huge deal because it signals that “consumer tastes have overtaken the needs of business as the leading force shaping technology.” For a visual demonstration of the ass kicking Apple has given Microsoft over the past tens year, check out this chart.
