E. Coli Outbreak Leads to Lettuce Recall in 25 States

Twenty-five states, including New York, have recalled romaine lettuce after an E. coli outbreak possibly linked to contaminated lettuce has caused at least nineteen people in Ohio, New York, and Michigan to become sick, twelve of whom were hospitalized and three with life-threatening symptoms. And since Arizona definitely needed some more reasons to be antagonized by the rest of the country right now, the FDA says it is focusing its investigation on lettuce grown in that state as a potential source of the outbreak.
