Remember a couple of weeks ago when thunderstorms were whipping all around the city? Alfie, a 4-year-old terrier in Tribeca, does. On May 3 the little guy was out on his owner's eleventh-floor terrace, probably enjoy a nice milk bone, when a gust of wind lifted him in the air. He flew down five stories and 30 feet to the east before landing on a rooftop. Fighter that he is, Alfie jumped right up and walked away with only a few scratches. If the best part of this story is the flying dog (it obviously is), the second-best part is the doorman who helped Alfie find his owner.
"I brought him down to the lobby," she said. "Then [the doorman] grabbed a towel and said, 'This is Alfie. Oh, my, God. This is Alfie. He came from the 11th floor.'"
