According to Charlie Gasparino, the May 6 market plunge was caused by “human error, an improperly placed order, according to the preliminary findings somewhere at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange which set off a wave of selling in the stock market ... the SEC right now is putting together the final report ... It may be released today. This is a very political thing, so there may be some degree of massaging in here.” In hindsight, of course it was. How could we have blamed the machines when we all know it's the damn humans who always mess things up? [Fox Business]
