Reverend Jeremiah Wright the preacher whose controversial statements about chickens and 9/11 threatened to tank Barack Obama's presidential campaign, and who then sought revenge after Obama distanced himself is surprised that he no longer has the ear of President Obama. In a letter to the president of an aid organization earlier this year, Wright complained, accurately, that he was "toxic" and "radioactive" now, and that Obama would ignore his pleas to release funds for Haiti relief. We hadn't realized just how strained the relationship between Obama and Wright had become, however.
"When Obama threw me under the bus, he threw me under the bus literally!" he wrote. "Any advice that I offer is going to be taken as something to be avoided. Please understand that!"
Whoa, we thought that was just a metaphor. No wonder Wright is still bitter.
