Carly Simon Was a Victim of Money Manager Ken Starr, But Walter Cronkite ‘Got Out Early’

Carly Simon may have lost around $15 million to financial adviser Kenneth Starr, the singer tells the Observer this week, lamenting in part her own lack of financial acumen. “She’s a real artist, and she needs people to look after her,” her sister, Joanna, a Manhattan real-estate broker and the former companion of Walter Cronkite, tells the paper, which reports, “Cronkite, too, she said, was a client of Mr. Starr’s, though he got out early.” Lucky him.
