We haven't heard a lot about Rand Paul lately, ever since his campaign realized that he's more agreeable to voters when he's not speaking. But the fallout from his opposition to portions of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is still reverberating in Kentucky. On Friday, the state's Republican-led Senate offered a stinging rebuke to Paul — whose lead in his Senate race has narrowed dramatically over the past couple of weeks — with a resolution stating that opposition to any part of the historic legislation is "outside the mainstream of American values." Unamerican? Where did we hear that recently? [Lexington Herald-Leader]
