Obama Cancels Trip to Indonesia, Australia

As the worst oil spill in U.S. history continues to wreak havoc, the president has canceled his scheduled trip to Indonesia and Australia for the second time this year. He called the leaders of both countries Thursday night to offer his regrets, and the visits will be rescheduled soon, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said. Gibbs said Obama was staying in the country “to deal with important issues, one of which is the oil spill.” [AP via NYT]
