Not surprisingly, General Stanley McChrystal was the hot topic at today's White House press briefing, where Press Secretary Robert Gibbs spent most of his time thinking of different ways to not say whether McChrystal would be fired. Gibbs did, however, decline to say that McChrystal's job is safe, and said that with regard to what Obama would do, "all options are on the table." As for how Obama reacted to the story:
Q: Were you with the president when he reacted in any way to the story, and if so, how would you describe it? Was he surprised, was he angry?
Gibbs: "I gave him the article last night, and he was angry."
Q: How so?
Gibbs: "Angry you would know it if you saw it."
