In front of over 1,200 guests — and national television — at the Stockholm Cathedral yesterday, Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria married her long-term boyfriend and former personal trainer, Daniel Westling. According to the Telegraph, the couple's love survived the storm of a disapproving royal father and a confused public:
"The marriage... weathered the disapproval of King Carl XVI Gustaf, who was initially horrified that his heir was marrying her former fitness trainer, and growing indifference from the Swedish public, who have increasingly questioned the monarchy's modern relevance."
The whole international set — Prince Albert of Monaco, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands — even showed up to support the princess. And now one lucky — no, loving — fitness buff is officially Prince Daniel, the Duke of Vastergotland. We don't exactly have this sort of royalty in the United States, but when is Chelsea Clinton getting married, again? She now has Princess Victoria's wedding to top.
