Though the Alvin Greene story has increasingly seemed like something taken out of a movie, it seems the unlikely political victor’s tale might make the reverse move and head to the silver screen in an adaptation. Greene told the Times Sunday that there has been a high level of interest in developing the project, and he even has an actor picked out to play him.

“Mr. Greene said that since his victory, he has received calls from all over the world, including from a publishing agent in New York and a screenwriter in California. If a movie is made, he said, he wants to be portrayed by Denzel Washington.”

Denzel, who is probably sitting at home right now making a pros/cons list to decide whether to take the part, should keep in mind that Greene already has a foolproof merchandising tie-in idea ready to go!
