Obama Declares the End of Bailouts, Forever

Earlier today, politicians, bankers, and regular people screwed over by Wall Street gathered in the Ronald Reagan Building — a hilarious choice of venue for a bill opposed by almost every Republican lawmaker — for the signing of the financial-reform bill. "Because of this law, the American people will never again be asked to foot the bill for Wall Street’s mistakes,” Obama said. “There will be no more taxpayer-funded bailouts. Period.” Then he signed the legislation, and everyone applauded his successful use of all eleven ceremonial pens. [NYT]
