the most important wedding in the world

Rhinebeck Rocked by High-Profile Tourists

Only T-minus a few hours until Chelsea Clinton is officially married to Marc Mezvinsky! So far, the sleepy town of Rhinebeck has been stirred by appearances from Madeleine Albright, the former secretary of State, and Terry McAuliffe, former Democratic National Committee chairman, who lunched together at Gigi Trattoria. Vera Wang reportedly tried to enter the same restaurant with her husband, but “she found herself so overwhelmed by photographers that she never made it through the restaurant entrance.” Nearby, Douglas Band, movie producer Steve Bing, and Congressman Anthony Weiner mingled, and actors and Clinton friends Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen have showed up, too, though nobody has seen the bride yet. Talking to the Times, Ms. Clinton Bruno, a relative, said “[Chelsea’s] made a wonderful choice,” by holding the wedding in Rhinebeck. “It reminds me of the Ozarks in Arkansas, except more chic.” But in this media maelstrom, let’s not forget: This is a really cute couple! Congrats, Clinton.
