This year Eid al-Fitr, a celebratory holiday marking the end of Ramadan, will fall around September 11. Muslim leaders have expressed fear that communities gathered for prayer and festivity might mistakenly be interpreted as celebrating the anniversary of the terrorist attack. "It's getting really scary out there," said Ibrahim Hooper, national spokesman for Council on American-Islamic Relations. C'mon, in this, our most tolerant cultural moment, what could go wrong? [USAT]
