Until this week, former senator John Edwards — who cheated on his terminally cancer-stricken wife and lied about having conceived a child out of wedlock while running for president — was the most unpopular politician that Public Policy Polling had ever asked about among survey responders in Alaska. The crown now goes to Wasilla mayoral candidate Levi Johnston, who is viewed unfavorably by 72 percent of Alaskans and favorably only by 6 percent. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the persistent thorn in GOP superstar Sarah Palin's side is twice as popular among Democrats. [NYDN]
