On the heels of rumors about the departure of its chief revenue officer, Digg announced today that it will lay off 25 of its 67 staffers in an effort to "get back in a start-up mode." According to the latest numbers from Compete, traffic was down 15 percent since its much-derided redesign in August, which users say sold out to advertisers and publishers by killing features like the bury button and friends submissions.
