Businessman Sues the Standard Hotel After Rape Acquittal

A flasher at the Standard.

An Australian businessman was acquitted of trying to rape a maid at the Standard, the meatpacking district's hip hotel du jour. Now he's firing back, suing the hotel for $10 million, claiming the maid lied after he caught her rifling through his luggage, and that the hotel's nudity-prone, "racy atmosphere" contributed to the false charges against him. What happens at the Standard does not always stay there. [NYP]
