The Republican candidate for governor not only made a fool of himself — he also has miserable timing, choosing to say that children should not be “brainwashed” into thinking homosexuality is acceptable on a day where (1) eight people in the Bronx were arraigned for beating, torturing, and raping a gay man, his brother, and two teenagers, (2) a gay-pride march in the Serbian capital of Belgrade was interrupted by thousands of rioters chanting “death to homosexuals.”
