Verizon Announces Massive Customer Refund Payout

In one of the largest-ever customer refunds by a telecommunications company, Verizon will be paying up to $90 million in refunds to 15 million customers who were incorrectly charged for data session or Internet use. The users in question will receive credits ranging from $2 to $6 in their October or November bills (those who’ve ditched Verizon already will be getting refund checks). The FCC has been receiving complaints from Verizon customers over the unauthorized charges for the past three years and was working on an investigation of the issue. While Verizon no doubt hopes this placates annoyed customers, there’s a different announcement they could have made that probably would have made everyone forget about the whole “incorrect charges” thing completely.
