Washington Insiders Annoyed to Find Velvet Rope Inside White House

"For a campaign rally, sure, that's fine. But not for the White House," one guest of the Obamas complained to WWD, referring to the velvet ropes the President and First Lady stand behind to greet people during parties. "This President thinks he is such a rock star. It's like he's inviting guests to the White House just to snub them." Of course, at a Donna Karan–hosted party in New York this week, Michelle Obama will wander freely among guests. So maybe it's not about the Obamas, Washington. Maybe it's about you. [WWD]
