Matt Damon Will Not Humiliate Himself for New York’s Amusement After All

During the campaign season, die-hard Red Sox fan Matt Damon promised to sell his soul by wearing a Yankees hat on camera, if only New York’s voters would be kind enough to give the Working Families Party at least 200,000 votes in last month’s election. It seemed as good a reason as any to vote for Andrew Cuomo, Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand, et al, on the WFP line rather than the Democratic Party line, but it wasn’t incentive enough, according the finally-certified election results. Schumer won the most WFP votes, but fell 16,293 votes short of the all-important “humiliating Matt Damon” threshold.
