Former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell has been close friends with Bill Clinton since serving as mayor of Philadelphia in the nineties during Clinton’s presidency and was one of Hillary Clinton’s most vocal backers in the 2008 Democratic primary. So it’s worth taking note when he talks about Hillary running for president in 2016.
“In 2016, she’ll be young in terms of energy, I think she’s performed brilliantly as Secretary of State. I don’t think there’s the slightest doubt that she’d be a terrific president. I think the time’s right for a woman president,” he said. “If I make a lot of money, and Hillary tries to run in 2016, I may become a participate in the process.”
Apparently he isn’t quite convinced that Hillary is so done with politics forever. Maybe she needs to work on her “the mere suggestion that I will run again is patently ridiculous!” laugh.
