The Stewart family, which founded the tony private school York Prep, is having "a very rough time," its matriarch told the Post earlier this week. Why? Where to begin ... Well, it turns out that headmaster Ronald Stewart and his wife, Jayme, just learned that their son-in-law had cheated on their daughter. That's enough to start a pretty bad month. But complicating matters was the fact that the son-in-law, Christopher Dumford, worked for the Stewarts. The 39-year-old Dumford was, until this semester, the principal of York Prep. But parents were notified last week that he was being replaced.
Unsaid in the letter to York families was that he lost his job over the affair — which he conducted with an 18-year-old York alumna the year after she graduated. Yowza. While a source says nothing sexual happened while the girl was enrolled, fellow students noticed an intimacy between the two of them. She was on the volleyball team, and Dumford was the coach. "People knew about it last school year," one kid told the Post. "She used to go to his office last year a lot — more than she should."
Well, that doesn't make any sense at all. Everyone knows that behind closed doors in a tiny administrative office is the best place to practice your "ready position" and "power tip."
